Turn PNG, JPEG, AVIF, JPEG XL or HEIC images into WebP. We compress every file as we convert it.
3 free WebP conversions per session, max 5 MB eachOr click to browse. 3 free WebP conversions per session, max 5 MB each
WebP files are small and every current browser shows them, so pages load faster. WebP keeps transparent areas. A PNG usually comes out more than 90% smaller, a JPEG more than 75% and an iPhone HEIC photo more than 50%.

We remove detail you can't see, such as unused colors and hidden metadata. The image looks the same and the file is much smaller.
Web Free converts 3 images per session without an account. Web Ultra has no conversion limit.
Designers, developers, marketers and many more: millions of people use TinyPNG. Together they've shrunk over 9 billion images.
Add images up to 5 MB each.
Each image comes back as WebP, usually within seconds.
Save them one by one, or all at once as a ZIP.
The same photo before and after TinyPNG, 1096 × 639 pixels on both sides. Move across the image to compare.
WebP is the safe default for a website: small files, and every current browser shows them. PNG and JPEG open in every app, so keep one for email, Etsy, Amazon and upload forms. HEIC can't be shown in most browsers at all.

A JPEG, AVIF or HEIC was already compressed and WebP compresses again, so a little detail goes. At normal viewing sizes it is hard to spot.
Yes. Go to WebP to PNG or WebP to JPG. Detail removed by compression doesn't come back.
Yes, in both its lossy and lossless mode. Converting to JPG fills transparent areas with white, and we ask first; convert to PNG, JXL or AVIF to keep them.
Both: a WebP file can use either mode. Converting a lossy WebP to another lossy format, such as JPG, compresses it once more. We save WebP lossy, or lossless when that comes out smaller.
About 97% of browsers, including Safari from version 16. Outside the browser it is patchier: Windows and Office need a free Microsoft Store extension, Gmail turns WebP into JPEG, and many upload forms reject it.
AVIF is often smaller for photos, but WebP is accepted in more places; Shopify, for example, takes WebP uploads and not AVIF. JPEG and PNG still open everywhere, while AVIF fails in some shops, design tools, older Windows apps and email.
To save space: Apple says HEIC compresses better than JPEG at the same visual quality. The catch is compatibility, so you often need a JPG before sharing.
Add your images above, choose WebP and download the result. It works in your browser on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android, with nothing to install.
WebP is an image format from Google, built on the VP8 video codec. It stores photos and graphics in less space than JPEG or PNG, keeps transparency, and can be lossy or lossless. Every current browser shows it, which is why websites often serve their images as WebP.
Yes. Web Free converts 3 images per session, up to 5 MB each, without an account. Web Pro takes bigger files, and Web Ultra converts as many as you like.
Yes. We store your images encrypted, download links expire after 8 hours, and we delete your images from our servers within 48 hours.
We remove all metadata, such as camera details, GPS location and editing history, to keep files small. Want to keep metadata? Use the developer API: it can keep the copyright, creation date and location.
Convert to the format you need, or keep the one you have and just make it smaller.
