Turn PNG, JPG, WebP, JPEG XL or HEIC images into AVIF. We compress every file as we convert it.
3 free AVIF conversions per session, max 5 MB eachOr click to browse. 3 free AVIF conversions per session, max 5 MB each
AVIF makes web images very small, and about 96% of browsers show it. We save AVIF at a high quality, so it looks the same, and transparent areas stay. A PNG usually comes out more than 95% smaller and a JPG more than 70%; screenshots and text can come out larger.

We remove detail you can't see, such as unused colors and hidden metadata. The image looks the same and the file is much smaller.
Web Free converts 3 images per session without an account. Web Ultra has no conversion limit.
Designers, developers, marketers and many more: millions of people use TinyPNG. Together they've shrunk over 9 billion images.
Add images up to 5 MB each.
Each image comes back as AVIF, usually within seconds.
Save them one by one, or all at once as a ZIP.
The same photo before and after TinyPNG, 1096 × 639 pixels on both sides. Move across the image to compare.
AVIF is for your website, where small files load faster. PNG and JPG open in every app and form, so keep one for email and uploads. Many e-commerce platforms, design tools and email clients don't take AVIF.

Yes. Go to AVIF to PNG or AVIF to JPG. Detail removed by compression doesn't come back.
AVIF is often smaller for photos, but WebP is accepted in more places. JPG and PNG still open everywhere, while AVIF fails in some e-commerce platforms, design tools, older Windows apps and email.
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari (from 16.4), about 96% of browsers in use. Outside the browser, Windows Photos and Office need the free AV1 Video Extension, and Gmail turns AVIF into JPG.
Yes, like PNG and WebP. Converting AVIF to JPG fills transparent areas with white, and we ask first.
Yes. They are the same format; only the file extension differs. Old Windows only allowed three letters for the file extension, so JPEG became .jpg. Renaming one to the other changes nothing about the file, so converting to JPEG is the same as converting to JPG, and a .jpeg file converts and compresses like a .jpg.
Add your images above, choose AVIF and download the result. This AVIF converter works in your browser on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android, with nothing to install.
An AVIF is a still image compressed with the AV1 video codec, a royalty-free format from the Alliance for Open Media, and stored in a HEIF container, like HEIC. It can be lossy or lossless, though most AVIF photos are lossy. Websites and image CDNs often serve it because it is small, so it is often what you get when you save an image from a site.
Yes. Web Free converts 3 images per session, up to 5 MB each, without an account. Once you log in, Web Pro converts 3 images per session, up to 75 MB each, and Web Ultra converts as many as you like, up to 150 MB each. On every plan, an image can have up to 256 megapixels.
Yes. We store your images encrypted, download links expire after 8 hours, and we delete them automatically after 24 hours.
Yes. To keep files small we remove all metadata: EXIF data such as camera details and GPS location, and XMP data such as copyright and editing history. Colour profiles are converted to sRGB, the standard for screens and the web. The developer API can keep the copyright, creation date and location.
Convert to the format you need, or keep the one you have and just make it smaller.
