Turn WebP images into JPG files. We compress every file as we convert it.
3 free WebP to JPG conversions per session, max 5 MB eachOr click to browse. 3 free WebP to JPG conversions per session, max 5 MB each
Websites often send images as WebP, even when the file name ends in .jpg. Browsers show it fine, but many marketplaces, upload forms and older apps still expect a real JPG. Renaming the file doesn't change its format; converting it does.

We remove detail you can't see, such as unused colors and hidden metadata. The image looks the same and the file is much smaller.
Web Free converts 3 images per session without an account. Web Ultra has no conversion limit.
Designers, developers, marketers and many more: millions of people use TinyPNG. Together they've shrunk over 9 billion images.
Add WebP images up to 5 MB each.
Each image comes back as JPG, usually within seconds.
Save them one by one, or all at once as a ZIP.
WebP makes smaller files and supports transparency, which is why websites use it. JPG opens everywhere: email, Office and every upload form. Convert to JPG when a file has to leave the browser.

WebP stores images more efficiently than JPG, so the same image takes more space. Measured on real images converted with TinyPNG, it usually comes out about 1.2 times the size. How much depends on the image: photos, flat graphics and screenshots each grow differently.
It is probably a WebP with a .jpg name. Many websites send WebP to browsers that support it. Convert it here to get a real JPG.
The WebP was already compressed and JPG compresses again, so a little detail goes. At normal viewing sizes it is hard to spot.
For web photos, JPG to WebP is usually more than 75% smaller, measured on real images converted with TinyPNG. Every modern browser shows WebP, so a page loads faster with no visible difference. Outside the browser, PNG and JPG are still the safer choice: older image editors, Office documents, many upload forms and some email clients don't accept WebP.
Both: a WebP file can use either mode. Converting a lossy WebP to another lossy format, such as JPG, compresses it once more. We save WebP lossy, or lossless when that comes out smaller.
JPG for photos: much smaller, and it opens everywhere. PNG for logos, screenshots and cut-outs: it keeps every pixel and supports transparency. A photo saved as PNG is several times bigger than it needs to be, while flat graphics or art may be much smaller and higher quality with PNG.
Yes. They are the same format; only the file extension differs. Old Windows only allowed three letters for the file extension, so JPEG became .jpg. Renaming one to the other changes nothing about the file, so converting to JPEG is the same as converting to JPG, and a .jpeg file converts and compresses like a .jpg.
Add your WebP images above, choose JPG and download the result. This WebP to JPG converter works in your browser on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android, with nothing to install.
WebP is an image format from Google, built on the VP8 video codec. It stores photos and graphics in less space than JPG or PNG, keeps transparency, and can be lossy or lossless. Every current browser shows it, which is why websites often serve their images as WebP.
Drop it into any current browser. Windows 11 opens it too; Windows 10 may need the free WebP Image Extension from the Microsoft Store. Or convert it to JPG or PNG here.
Yes. Web Free converts 3 images per session, up to 5 MB each, without an account. Once you log in, Web Pro converts 3 images per session, up to 75 MB each, and Web Ultra converts as many as you like, up to 150 MB each. On every plan, an image can have up to 256 megapixels.
Yes. We store your images encrypted, download links expire after 8 hours, and we delete them automatically after 24 hours.
Yes. To keep files small we remove all metadata: EXIF data such as camera details and GPS location, and XMP data such as copyright and editing history. Colour profiles are converted to sRGB, the standard for screens and the web. The developer API can keep the copyright, creation date and location.
Convert to the format you need, or keep the one you have and just make it smaller.
